About Lumn8 Footwear
Kenny Liteshoes Johnson
Kenny is the founder of Lumn8 Footwear & the creator of the Lumn8 shoes. Kenny grew up in Bartlesville Oklahoma. His love for basketball as a kid quickly turned into an obsession to win his hometown a 5A state championship which he accomplished his senior year at Bartlesville High. He then walked on at University of Kansas in 1989-1992 and transferred to Oklahoma State in hopes to continue his college career but a severe back & nerve injury ended his playing days. However, his extremely competitive spirit didn't end w/his playing days. He started creating sports memorabilia in the garage of San Diego rent house. His mother Marianne had showed him how to sew when he was younger & he made arm sleeves w/ generic lightning bolts on them & sold at SD Charger game parking lots & tailgate parties. After, a young fan got Drew Brees autograph & pledged to never take it off, Kenny got the idea for his 1st product. The Signature Sleeve. After acquiring NCAA licensing for the sleeves & getting them in Walmart.com, Dick's Sporting Goods and other big box retail stores he wanted to do something much BIGGER. He then started his quest to bring the 1st ever NCAA team light up shoe. His internal competitive drive to bring a new, fun, affordable & functional footwear to fans of all sports and entertainment is his life's passion and still is to this day.
Kenny has donated over 5,000 pairs of Lumn8s to charities all over the USA. Boys & Girls Clubs, The Lana Turner Foundation for Kids w/ Cancer and multiple Foster Programs have received the bulk of those donations. He also had a breast cancer partnership w/ Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of his mother who was a 40yr survivor of the disease at the time. His Lumn8 Love & Life program still donates to worthy causes to this day.
